This is what Clerks and Councillors in Worcestershire have said about CALC's training:
- 'Not what I was expecting, very relaxed and great fun'
- 'You are never too old or experienced to learn'
- 'One hour of training is worth ten hours of reading'.
- 'Thank you for a very pleasant session on the Minutes and Agendas. Although I have been a Clerk for 18 years, I was pleased to hear lots of new ideas and methods. This type of session allows for an excellent interchange of ideas, and problems, between old and new Clerks: the new Clerks contribute fresh ways of thinking and the old Clerks know a few old soldiers' tricks!'
- 'Very good to be reminded of what we are supposed to be doing. Very useful.'
- 'Definitely value for money and it meets a need. A book is good but training is better.'

COUNCILLORS NEED REFRESHING TOO!
Both 'new' and 'old' Councillors need refreshing from time to time on new practices and requirements, and benefit from networking.
For anyone running a business ' and the Parish Council IS a business! ' there is an ongoing need for training.
Parish and Town Councils have been subject to many new rules and initiatives, and Councillors who attend our events find out all too often that their Councils have inherited bad practice, and they return to their Councils with renewed enthusiasm.
