Berrow Parish Council and Pendock Parish Council – vacancy for a Parish Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer 

These two Parish Councils serve two rural areas in the south of Worcestershire. Due to the proximity and overlapping of the parishes, both roles for each Parish Council is performed by the same person.  This is a part time role averaging about 10 – 15 hours per week, per Parish Council.  

The Clerk is the central point of communication for all matters concerning the Council and is additionally responsible for ensuring that the actions of the Council fall within and comply with existing legal requirements. The duties of the Responsible Financial Officer are to maintain the financial records of the Council and any Sub-Committees as required by law.  

The Clerk also acts as the administator for the Berrow Charities Trustees and the Pendock Moor Committee. 

No previous clerk experience is necessary, but an admin/finance background would be advantageous along with good IT skills (word/excel in particular). The knowledge of maintaining a website is desirable as well as an ability to work on their own initiative. Any necessary training will be made available. 

Each Parish Council hold 4 / 5 meetings a year, including AGMs, and are held in the evenings at the Berrow and Pendock Village Hall.
