CALC is the representative body for Parish and Town Councils - the first tier of government - in Worcestershire.

Together with 41 other CALCs in England, we are affiliated to the National Association of Local Councils.

Members of the CALC Executive and others nominated by Area Meetings, who are all serving Parish or Town Councillors, represent the first tier on many countywide, regional and national bodies.

We provide training courses, and general guidance on Charter and Quality Parish/Town Status, to all Parish and Town Councils.

All other services are by subscription only as described in the leaflet "Benefits of Membership".

In addition we provide a commercial mailing service - discounted to partners - and a facilitation service to partners in local government and beyond, for which a facilitation fee may be required.

Clerks of member Councils have the benefit of a password protected members' page with privileged comprehensive guidance and infomation.

The Worcestershire CALC Executive officer is a member of the County Officers Development Group (COG) which is the professional representative body for CALC Officers in England.

The Executive officer is also the Lead Partner on the county Training Partnership, and is appointed by the ODPM as Secretary to the Quality Parish County Accreditation Panel.

Based in Malvern with a small establishment of part-time staff, Worcestershire CALC is a flexible, small and smiling organisation.
