Local Knowledge, Local Power: Free Workshops for Parish Councillors
Parish and town councillors are invited to join Community First’s new Local Knowledge, Local Power roadshow.
Changes to local government, funding and strategic decision-making will create both challenges and opportunities for rural communities. These free, practical workshops will help councils understand what devolution could mean locally and how they can prepare, influence future priorities and attract support and investment.
The sessions will explore:
- understanding and evidencing local needs;
- planning for housing and neighbourhood development;
- supporting community health and wellbeing;
- developing village halls and other community assets; and
- accessing specialist advice, partnerships and funding.
Each two-hour workshop will help participating councils identify their strengths, consider gaps and agree practical next step
